Healthy movement isn’t a question of high performance. You don’t need to run marathons; the secret of being physically fit lies in finding the right balance between strain and release, between exertion and relaxation.

What makes it so complicated? The balance is different for each individual.

Above all, healthy exercise is a question of consistency:

you should exercise or play sports regularly and in moderation. But how often and how much is the right balance for you?

Taking 10,000 steps a day is ideal. Pedometers aren’t expensive.
Always walk (or bike) short distances.
Avoid escalators and elevators; whoever always takes the stairs can stay in shape without a gym.
If you walk or bike for 30 minutes a day, you can lower your cancer risk. (NB: extreme sports can actually raise this risk).
